Anyway, today is a double header – food for grown ups and food for kiddos! Although, I suppose the grown ups could bring the kiddos to their food events and the kiddos will likely bring the grown ups to the kiddo events.
First, for the grown ups. Yelp Eats Restaurant Week returns! Yelp does their own restaurant week in a number of cities (to find out what’s happening in your city, sign up for the Weekly Yelp by clicking here). This week, thanks to Yelp, you can enjoy $25 Prix Fixe meals at a number of yummy spots. Plus, on the Yelp page about the event (click here), you can see exactly what is part of that Prix Fixe so you aren’t stuck with liking only one of the three courses. Enjoy old favorites like Brasserie Jo and Kinzie Chop House or check out places that maybe have been “on your list” like Home Bistro (HB) or May Street Market. Yelp strongly suggests securing reservations because like any restaurant week, tables fill up quickly!
Next, for the kiddos, there’s Cookie Kids Restaurant Week (Thanks Jen for the tip on this one!). Cookie Magazine organizes this event in Washington, DC (June 13-21), New York (June 20-28) and Chicago (June 20-28). This is a great way to introduce your kids to some fantastic restaurants (in Chicago, restaurants include 312, Cocco Pazzo, and my favorite, Uncommon Ground) while you parents get a bargain! Adults pay $29 and kids 11 and under pay their age. Plus, a portion of the proceeds benefit local charities (but they aren’t listed on the site – boo!). What’s the catch you ask? Well, Kids Restaurant Week only goes from 5-7PM at the participating restaurants which, I guess, isn’t a big deal if you’re dining with kids. When you click here, the link will take you to the general page. Select your city and from there, you can book your reservations on line using Open Table. Now the question is which kiddos am I going to borrow to take advantage of this?!?
Enjoy some good food and thanks for reading Bright-Yellow. Remember, the site is only as good as those who read it so keep sending those suggestions, ideas, and comments my way!
