Well, I attempted to write my first post via iPhone – that did not work out as well as I had hoped so, instead, here is a late (and short) post!
I forgot one really great event this weekend but thanks to my friend, Jenny (who turned me on to the event way back when), I have been reminded and now you will know of the fun that is the Renegade Craft Fair!
Apparently, “way back when” is seven years ago because, according to the Web site, this is the seventh annual Renegade Craft Fair. And, before you non-Chicagoans start with “oh, great, another post that doesn’t apply to us”, don’t fret – the Renegade Craft Fair also takes place in Brooklyn, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. If you are not familiar with this event, the Renegade Craft Fair is pretty much summed up with the title. It’s an artsy-craftsy fair DIY craft fair featuring artists of all levels (by all levels, I mean good to great) selling their wares whether they be jewelry, hand-knit scarves, or hand-painted notecards (to name a few). For all of the details, just click here.
This year’s Chicago event, takes place this Saturday and Sunday (11AM-7PM) along Division Street between Damen and Paulina. Yes, it’s one more event to fit in a jam-packed weekend but I wouldn’t steer you wrong and this is an event not to be missed. That said, if you live in Chicago, you can visit Renegade Handmade (1924 W. Division) for a sampling of what you’d find at the Renegade Craft Fair. However, like I said, if you can make it, don’t miss this one (Jenny and I will be there on Sunday)!
